Planning Decision Deferred

Community development on hold after decision deferred

The plans for Shrewsbury Town in the Community to takeover the training pitch at the Greenhous Meadow are still on hold after councillors deferred their decision for another four weeks.

Permission for Lidl to build a supermarket on land at the Greenhous Meadow has already been approved but the decision to move the S106 to the training pitch was under discussion by the council today.

The councils planning department had recommended that a new section 106 agreement be drawn up but again the councillors have deferred their decision, this time until March 16th.

Shrewsbury Town's CEO Brian Caldwell was disappointed with the decision but is hoping that the decision will finally be approved in March.

“We are very disappointed that the decision has been deferred once again”, said Brian.

“We felt all the additional information we provided over the last three months would be sufficient.

“With the officers recommending we hoped that the decision would be passed today.

“However we are hopeful all will now be approved at the next meeting in four weeks time.”
