Micky Mellon makes six changes as Town look to the end the season in winning ways at Swindon Town's County Ground.
It was the home side who had the better of the opening 10 minutes, they were keeping the ball well and playing it around to stretch the Town team. They were putting pressure on to the Town goal but the visitors were doing the work needed to keep the home side at bay.
Town's best opening came on the quarter hour mark when good play saw Akpa Akpro hold the ball up, he played a lovely ball to put Mangan in behind the Swindon defence, he got a shot in but it was blocked, Sadler picked it up then and played a decent cross to the back post but Brophy got in to head behind before Akpa Akpro could get his head to it.
Callum Burton was having a good début in the Town goal and was commanding his area well with a string of assured punches from Swindon corners.
Just before the 30 minutes mark Mangan picked the ball up and bore down on the Swindon goal, he had options with Sadler on the left cutting into the area in space but Mangy elected to shoot and it was blocked by the Swindon defence, it then dropped to Wesolowski but the angle was tight and his shot was over the bar.
With half-time fast approaching Swindon played a long ball into the Town box to find Ajose, Whitbread came across and did well to nick the ball away and come away with it, he looked to have been fouled but the ref saw nothing and when Whitbread looked to clear it down field Thompson nicked in and upended Thompson to give away the penalty. It was Ajose who placed the ball and despite Burton going the right way the kick was strong and flew high into the top of the net to give the home side the lead.

Swindon started the second half at a high tempo but Town were lending a helping hand with some sloppy defending from Town, first Whitbread's attempted clearance rebounded off Ajose and dropped for the Swindon goal scorer but Burton was out quickly to block, then moments later Smith's clearance was to Ellis who set-up Iandolo whose shot beat Burton but came back off the post, but then Thompson played a lovely ball to set Ajose in behind the Town defence, he had then hit a low shot at the angle that gave Burton no chance to make it 2-0 to Swindon.
With 10 minutes of the second half gone Micky Mellon made his first changes of the afternoon bringing on Larnell Cole and James Wallace to replace Dom Smith and Richie Wellens, and it looked like a change of formation to four at the back.
Minutes later Micky Mellon made his final change handing a début to Ethan Jones and it was Andy Mangan who made way.
Jones looked to make an impact straight away,first a nice move saw Wesolowski play a ball for Jones to get on the end of and then Jones played a lovely ball to put Akpa Akpro in behind the Swindon defence, he fired a low shot across the face of goal but it was wide of the target.
Town had a great chance to grab a goal back and Akpa Akpro had played a good ball to put Larnell Cole in on goal, he only had keeper Henry to beat but he drove in his shot and the Swindon keeper put a foot out to block and the chance was gone.
Swindon grabbed a third goal with 5 minutes of the half remaining, it was a bit too easy for the home side after Doughty found the space to bring the ball forward, he played a ball to find Young in space in Town box, he wasn't closed down and had the time to fire in a decent shot that gave Burton no chance to make it 3-0.
